Back at Coimbra University Hospital once more, Peter's grappling with a bout of appendicitis this time around. It all started this past Saturday, with the pain reaching unbearable levels, leading Rozanne to rush him straight to Emergency. But here's the kicker – they couldn't jump into surgery right away because of the blood thinners he's on.
The doctors tried keyhole surgery, but no joy. They ended up opening him up again to sort out the by now burst appendix. Can you believe it? This marks Peter's fourth surgery in under four months, and you can bet we’ve all been holding our breath for good news. After a few days of recovery and a round of IV antibiotics, Peter's finally getting the nod to head home.
Unfortunately, no blog coming your way this week from him with all the drama, no doubt you will all get an update on his musings next week about his latest adventure to hospital.
We would also like to mention we are very sad to hear of the passing of Anne Connon, wife of Stan Connon and Mum to Ian and Shelley. Our condolences to you. May she rest in peace. She will be very much missed and our thoughts go out to the family.
With love from Rozanne, Storm, Janine and Selby
